Ingredients
1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and finely ground
1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until pale and creamy.
Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
Fold in the ground hazelnuts, flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Allow the torte to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
Slice and serve the chocolate hazelnut torte with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
