Ingredients
4 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or challah)
3 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp butter
Instructions
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
Place the dipped bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
In a small saucepan, melt the remaining butter and toast the chopped pecans until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Serve the French toast hot, topped with the toasted pecans and an extra drizzle of maple syrup.
